Today I was delighted to learn that I was an award winner in the prestigous 2008 International Aperture Awards. The 3 images below were all award-winning in the wedding category. This was particularly pleasing because the standard of entry - including some fantastic photography from Australia and the USA - was extremely high. Only 3 of us from GB made the top 50. More award winning entries can be viewed at www.internationalapertureawards.com.
More SWPP Gold Awards
I was delighted to learn that 2 more of my images have been granted Gold Awards in the SWPP National Photography Competition for October. The first image below was successful in the Traditional Wedding Category and the second in the Family Portraits and Groups category. They will now both go forward to the annual awards at the end of year.
SWPP Gold Award
Every month the Society of Wedding and Portrait Photographers hold a national image competition - and this month I was pleased to receive a Gold Award in the bridal portraiture category. The image below was taken earlier in September at Christ Church, Brockham, Surrey (Sarah and Ollie’s wedding). This will now go through to the annual awards.
On 27 September 2008, Natalie and Stuart’s wedding provided my first shoot at Stoke Park Club, Stoke Poges. This venue is often used for film sets - including Goldfinger in the 1960s, and more recently Bridget Jones’ Diary. Coincidentally I have just finished reading Huxley’s classic “Brave New World”, where it receives several references. So a great venue, wonderful weather (though a little contrasty) and another superb couple to photograph. Beats working for a living!
